Abstract
Argues that because Charles Mills's methods and postulations are presented within the boundaries of the Western contractarian philosophical tradition he is technically an agent of the mainstream. There is a sense, however, in which Mills's work is subversive because it can be used to eventually educate white supremacy out of power by enabling whitenes to accept racial equality and the inherent justice it engenders. Sees an implicit assumption in Mills of a liberation ethos in modern western political thought. The logic of this ethos is that the non-European world cannot be free from white supremacy if Europeans are also not free from it.
