Analyses the nature of the Baptist Rebellion by Muslim plantation slaves in Jamaica in 1831 from an Islamic perspective and examines the role played by a pastoral letter calling for a jihad by Muslim slaves. Looks at the leadership of the rebellion and the dominance of the Islamic faith in the rebellion.
