Abstract
The title compound, [Re(C11H9N2O2)(C18H15P)(CO)2]0.5C2H6OS or cis-[Re(CO)2(PPh3)(dpkO,OH)]0.5dmso (dpkO,OH is hydroxydi-2-pyridylmethanolate and dmso is dimethyl sulfoxide), obtained from a dmso solution of cis-[Re(CO)2(PPh3)(dpk)Cl] (dpk is di-2-pyridylmethanone), crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c, with two independent cis-[Re(CO)2(PPh3)(dpkO,OH)] complexes and one dmso molecule in the asymmetric unit. These results confirm the facile hydrolysis of N,N-coordinated di-2-pyridyl methanone to form a hydroxytris(2-pyridyl) methanolato-33O hydrogen bonds, which link the complexes into pairs, and non-classical intermolecular C-HO hydrogen bonds, which link the various stacks. ....
