Abstract
Signore and Ryan (1993) have clarified the significance of the agmatan sclerite Volborthella by describing a unique articulated scleritome. This contribution helps to illuminate the gross morphology of this stratigraphically important group and is in step with current trends of research that have shown some problematic lower Palaeozoic fossils to be fragments from larger organisms. However, a somewhat younger articulated organism related to Volborthella may have been described already. Comparison with articulated Volborthella from the lower Cambrian suggests trends in agmatan evolution that are worthy of further discussion.....
