Abstract
The Pleistocene sedimentary record of Jamaica tends to be limited to accretionary coastal facies. Large-scale erosional sedimentary structures from this period have not been reported in Jamaica previously. A cut-and-fill structure was discovered in a disused quarry at Berrydale, near Discovery Bay in the parish of St. Ann. This structure is interpreted as a Pleistocene submarine palaeo-channel within the Hopegate Formation. The cross-sectional view of the structure suggests a palaeo-flow direction to the NNE. The channel was infilled by bioclastic material derived from the reefal facies of the Hopegate Formation.....
