Abstract
The first echinoid recorded from the Lower Eocene of the Richmond Formation of eastern Jamaica, Phymosomatid gen. et. sp. nov., comes from Port Maria, parish of St. Mary. The unique specimen was preserved on the pebbly base of a turbiditic sandstone bed. The test is small with a small apical system, pore pairs arranged in a single series, ambulacral plates, quadrigeminate throughout, no naked interradial zone adorally and a single primary tubercle on each interambulacral plate.....
