Abstract
Argues that an important explanation for the social problems within the Jamaican tourism sector has to do with the fact that tourism represents a window of opportunity in a stagnating economy. Argues that while mass tourism has had great success as an income earner, it has resulted in problems of squatting, harrassment and crime. Suggests that community tourism, is one way to realise success in the industry while dealing with some of the social problems.....
