Abstract
Measures the change in the public image of University of the West Indies since 1982 and examines the reasons for the changes that have taken place. Explores the expectations that the Jamaican public has of the University of the West Indies especially with regard to the preparation of students and evaluates the extent to which these expectations are met. Concludes that the University is still viewed as a good undergraduate teaching institution. Jamaican managers, however, favour an innovative, problem-solving yet functional improved graduate able to keep abreast of their fields in the information age.....
