Abstract
Outlines the main features of a large, previously unrecognised landslide at Burlington, near the mouth of the Rio Grande. Recognition of this feature suggests that a systematic examination of geomorphic evidence in the river valleys of eastern Jamaica will lead to the identification of additional, ancient slope failures that may have formed landslide dams in prehistoric and historic times.
