Abstract
Defines counter-globalization as a process that questions the theory, the ideology and the practices of neo-liberal globalization. It draws on a wide range of social forces: governments of disadvantaged countries in the South; labour unions in the North who fear the loss of jobs to low-wage locations in the South; protectionist lobbies in the North; environmental groups and community organizations. A major factor is the emergence of North-South counter globalization coalitions of citizens' groups and other NGOs.....
