Abstract
Suggests that the connection between the United States and CARICOM states in relation to drugs has been characterized by both conflict and cooperation. Cooperation has however been the dominant element. The conflict on the other hand has been related to the pressure on the Caribbean governments placed by successive American administrations in the 'war against drugs'.
