Abstract
Deals primarily with the experiences of small states of the Eastern Caribbean. Specific cases are identified where, in spite of the continuing vulnerability of the small economies of the region, globalization has led to the reduction in the level of preferences previously enjoyed by these countries and a decline in their export earnings, as well as in financial flows. Includes suggestions aimed at helping small states to confront these challenges such as: the necessity for microstates to rethink their diplomatic strategies and international relations in terms of improved training for foreign service personnel to deal with issues such as those discussed within the WTO.....
