Abstract
Develops the authors' argument that it is the communication function of frame which provides the participants with a viewpoint from which to consider the circumstances of the drama. By planning for this, the teacher ensures that participants have a collective concern which precipitates them into both talk and action, because it creates the dramatic tension and therefore, the imperative for participation. This represents a continuation of the exploration of that aspect of planning for children's learning through process drama, role and frame, and the relation to sign, another of the fundamental principles for planning process drama.....
