Abstract
A broad description of the diet of fourteen fish species from the lower Kikori River is provided. Most fish species concentrate on two food resources: substrate detritus and decapod crustacea. Some specialization in dietary habits is seen particularly in Nedystoma dayii. The most widely distributed fish species in the river system tends to be generalist feeders. Based on observations reported here the patterns of energy flow through the fish community are dissimilar to that seen in other tropical locations.....
