An analysis of landslides and their impact on the inhabitants of the Kingston Metropolitsn Area, approaches to landslide management are also considered. This field guide aims to facilitate an understanding of active geological processes and related hazards in the area, examines landslides in relation to geology, structure and gemorphology and their impact, introduces landslide loss-reduction and mitigation approaches and highlights the importance of earth science information in land use planning and environmental management.
