Abstract
A summary of a presentation made at the Biochemistry Wetlands Conference in Florida, June 1999. The author discusses various studies on water quality in Jamaican mangrove lagoons. They conclude that the factors that influence what colonises and eventually become established on the red mangrove root are too complex for the entire root community to be reliable indicators of eutrophication.....
