Abstract
Argues that the identity of women of Indian descent as Caribbean settlers remains elusive. The sources for finding Indian women's voices and experiences in history are few, although they are clearly being addressed more and more in the historiography of the region. This recovery of diverse ethnic groups and classes of women and men, and the issues which affected them differently in the past, is still relatively virgin territory for the budding historian in this field.....
