Abstract
The University of the West Indies Medical Students' Association (UWIMSA) became the first English-Speaking national member organization from the Caribbean to be full members of the International Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA) on Sunday, July 28, 2002 at the 51st August General Assembly in Taipei, Taiwan. The IFMSA is a non-profit and non-governmental organization, reaching out to thousands of medical students in a network of member countries. There are many benefits to the UWIMSA. This includes the ability to identify with reputable international organizations such as the World Health Organization. Student Exchanges are also made available to final year students in any of the member countries of the IFMSA.....
