The Outcome of Lupus Nephritis in a Cohort of Black Jamaican Patients. [Abstract]

Objective: To investigate the prognosis of Lupus Nephritis in a cohort of Black Jamaican patients.Method: The case notes of 66 patients (60 females, 6 males) who had renal biopses for lupus nephritis between 1991 and 2000 and were folowed-up at the Renal Clinic of the University Hospital of the West Indies were reviewed. The biopsies were classified according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) criteria. The primary outcome was end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or death. Laboratory parametres of nephritis including changes in serum creatinine and proteinuria were also examined.....
