Abstract
Objective: To determine the knowledge, attitudes, practices and views of midwives regarding patients with HIV/AIDS at a selected hospital. Methods: A 22 item pre-tested self-administered questionnaire was completed by the entire population (n = 31) of nurses and midwives working at the labour and delivery area of the Spanish Town Hospital, Jamaica. The response rate was 100%. Data were analyzed using SPSS Version 7.5, 11.0. Qualitative data were analyzed by sorting texts into related categories and describing the main ideas of the subjects.....
