Abstract
The paucity of race relations studies that are not located within the Black-White dichotomy, has masked the importance of broader inter-ethnic studies in Jamaica’s social history. This paper represents an attempt to trace the historical roots of Indian-African-Jamaican relationships, shedding light on the reasons for the escalation in animosity between them in the mid-to late-20th century, especially in Kingston and St. Andrew in the aftermath of the labour rebellions of 1938.....
