Abstract
Discussses Caribbean organic philosophy in the 1970s. Examines some of the cultural- political developments of that period and engages in a dialogue across the decades about issues related to Caribbean philosophy or 'world view'. Contrasts more recent writngs of Caribbean scholars with Caribbean organic philosphy, exemplified by the lyrics of two singers, Valentino, the Trinidadian calypsonian, Pablo Moses, the Jamiacan reggae vocalist, and makes a case for the idea of community as a 'metaphor for the recognition of alternative cultural forms and communities.'....
