Abstract
Asserts that despite the prevailing negatives, the Medical Association of Jamaica (MAJ) needs to do whatever it can to ensure that the Jamaican people repose high levels of confidence in the medical profession. Challenges the members of the MAJ to adopt and promote the attitude of civic engagement of the professionals for the transformation of society and national development. Highlights the contributions of memebers of the medical profession to the enhancement of the health and social well being of the Jamaican society and concludes that much needs to be done in the way of national development.
