Abstract
Offers a critique of the judgement of the case, 'Jamaica Stock Exchange v Fair Trading Commision', which was recently decided by the Jamaican Court of Appeal. Argues that the failure on the part of the court to appreciate the distinction between the market for securities trading and the market for the supply of facilities(exchanges) for securities trading contributed to faulty reasoning. Shows that this lead to incorrect judicial conclusions about the applicablity of the Fair Trading Commission Act 1993 (Jamaica) with a view to determining whether they have the effect of supplanting the jurisdiction of the Fair Trading Commission from the entire securities industry.....
