Abstract
Explores the factor structure and reliability of the Attitudes Toward Children with Serious Emotional Disturbance Scale (ATCSED) with a sample of Jamaican participants comprising 351 university students. The ATCSED is a 22-item measure intended to assess participants' views of children who have serious mental health problems and their families. Using the oblimin procedure in SPSS, an oblique 3-component solution is also explored. Concludes that the ATCSED-J meets the minimal requirements for internal consistency reliablity (alpha= 0.6, 0.65 and 0.68 respectively for environmental factors, parental blame, and poor parenting).....
