Fostering meaning-making: A case of pre-service teachers in Jamaica

Outlines and discusses the process and content of a course designed and implemented for high school graduates who are enrolled in the initial year of a 3-year pre-service teacher training programme in the regional University of the West Indies. The course content focuses on students' developing construction of meaning within the framework of four interrelated dimensions of educational practice: observation, reflection, evaluation and teaching as experiment.
