Abstract
This paper examines the process of adjusment to liberalization of the global economy that has taken place in Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago during the decade of 1990's. Globalization has posed an imperative of restructuring and transformation for all countries and nowhere has the impact been felt more keenly than in small, open, developing economies. This paper seks to examine the responses of these two countries, particularly as it concerns their foririegn policy reorientation. It draws conclsusions about the range of strategies and opportunities available to Caribbean countries but also points out their continued vulnerabilties in the face of a rapidly evolving process of globalization.....
