Abstract
The author uses action research data of eleven teacher-researchers (all experienced secondary school teachers on the B.Ed Language programme of the Faculty of Education, U.W.I.) to explore the significance of group work as a strategy for Jamaican teachers as a whole. It considers how group work as a strategy 'relates to the concrete conditions of local children and local classrooms'. Data in the form of teachers' logs were used to reflect on their practice as a whole in group discussion.
